Online games (OG) are a part of the Geewa platform offering a wide range of competition opportunities when playing online matches. Match results determine the number of points assigned to the league. Contests run in several rounds in a period of one week. After the end of the league, a certain number of points are added to the hall of fame.

A match is a duel among two or more players that usually takes place within 24 hours. After the end of the match, the order of players is evaluated, and players will get an appropriate number of points assigned to the league. Online games support the following types of matches:

Ghost Duel
Ghost duel is a match between two players in which an opponent needs not be online. Ghost duel, aka a duel with a ghost, is a duel in which you play against the best performance of your opponent (virtual score) recorded after his/her best match. The benefit is that you may challenge anybody without waiting for him/her to be online. Furthermore, there are no impacts if you have a slow connection and your opponent cannot leave the match. Games are prepared so that you have a feeling your opponent is playing online. Matches you were challenged to while you were offline may be found under the “Waitings” option. You may identify a virtual score from a real score of your opponent so that it is displayed in parenthesis. After the end of the match, the chance of your success is displayed on the scoreboard – you have to wait for your opponent to play the match for the real score. He/she has 24 hours to play the match. The results of the match may be found under the “Results” option.

Online Duel
Online duel is a match between two players for which both of them must be online. In this case you may challenge only opponents that are online. You wait for your turn in every round – you play together in real time. Online duel is evaluated in the same way as Ghost duel.

Turn-based game
When playing a turn-base game, players are not playing simultaneously but rather taking individual turns. An example of such a game is Chess or Checkers. Turn-based games may be played against an online as well as offline opponent. In case you play against an offline opponent, you may play only the first turn. The opponent may find this match in the Waitings matches and may continue by playing his/her first turn. Of course, it is more interesting to challenge an opponent that is online so that after your turn you are immediately waiting for your opponent’s turn. Both these approaches may be combined, i.e., you can launch a match with an offline opponent and continue interactively after his/her login.

Highscore
You try to beat the best score of your opponent in a high score duel. A competition with your opponent’s best performance may be displayed in the same way as in Ghost duel. You can check your current score against the best score throughout the match. A common example of such a duel is a single player game allowing you to send the score after the game is over.

League
League is played in 7 rounds where every round equals one day of the week. You can play an unlimited number of matches with a maximum number of 50 opponents in one round. You are allowed to play an unlimited number of matches with an arbitrary opponent. All these matches are evaluated overall as if you played one match. Thus if you won 6 of 10 matches, lost 4 of 10 matches, it is evaluated as one won match. You can achieve a maximum of 50 wins i.e., 100 points in one round.

Every league is in progress for one week. The league starts on Monday and ends on Sunday. Since online games are available to players worldwide, time is evaluated by Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to which our time is shifted for +1 hour. This means that the end time of a league (rounds, phases etc.) is not our midnight (12:00 PM) but 1:00 AM. The league is in progress from Monday 1:00 AM until Monday 1:00 AM of the next week.

Tournament
Tournament is based on a play-off system where only the winner proceeds to the next round. The best 128 players from the previous league round may participate in the tournament. The system randomly draws an opponent in the first round and subsequently one round takes place the next day – the final is played on Sunday. An example of such a tournament is a tennis tournament – this system is usually called a tournament web.

Stage competition
Stage competition consists of 7 stages. Every day from Monday to Sunday one stage is played. Your goal is excellent performance in each match. Results are evaluated at the end of the stage (of the day) and figured in the stage competition which ends on Sunday. Examples of such a stage are bicycle or F1 races.

Hall of Fame
Hall of fame includes the record of your results in previous leagues and tournaments. Only the best 4 positions from the last 10 leagues are recorded. Every position in a league is scored by a specific number of points. Only a position in top ten of the hall of fame makes you a real champion.
